Tickets are now on sale for Rockport Little Theatre’s teen performance of Moises Kaufman's "The Laramie Project".
This dramatic production has been selected by our teens for RLT's 2026 summer program, "Centerstage: The Teen Connection", a top to bottom teen driven project where the students select the play and directors are chosen from the previous year’s performance. All participants are between the ages of 13-18 and they have taken great care in the development of this very powerful story.
"The Laramie Project" is a deeply complex portrait of a community’s response to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man living in Laramie, Wyoming. The actors play multiple roles while conveying contrasting views, spotlighting the seismic and deeply personal impact Matthew’s death had on the small town while also demonstrating the power of the human spirit to triumph over bigotry and violence.
